What A Blogger And A King Has In Common?

kingthe-kings-speech-high-res[1]I was sitting in front of my computer doing something I can’t remember, probably nothing important and next to me there’s a TV and it was on and yelling into my right ear. My mind was blocking the sounds, so I could concentrate on my work, but one the commercials was announcing that a movie is going to be shown on the weekend and there was a fragment shown from the movie in which a women says: “Why should I listen to you?” a man replies: “Because I have a voice”.

That’s what I remember, but it wasn’t the whole fragment  Those words sank into my head. I decided to Google the whole part. This quote was from a movie The King’s Speech and the whole quote sounds like this:

King George VI: L-listen to me…

Lionel Logue: Why should I waste my time listening to you?

King George VI: Because I have a right to be heard! I have a voice!

Very powerful words. Sadly, I missed the movie and didn’t had a chance to see it, but I think it is worth watching. Though for me it still sound silly that a King is asking someone to listen to him maybe it would get clear in the movie, but that’s not the point, pretend for now that he isn’t a king and that he is a blogger.

A lot of bloggers when starting out ask themselves why should anyone listen to them, why should they waste their time reading your blog posts, reading your opinions on different topics, who cares what you have to say, who cares about your opinion, who cares about you? You are no one, nobody knows you on the internet, but you do have a voice and that’s a good enough reason for people to listen.

If you have your opinion then you will find a unique angel on any subject and it doesn’t matter, if it’s covered by other bloggers time and time and again, if you write it from your angle and all of us have a different angles on anything, because we have been raised differently and in different parts of the world, so our opinions are different and that’s what it makes them interesting.

A 34 year old women with 2 kids living from a minimum wage in Mumbai will have a totally different view about internet marketing than a 20 year old student from Texas and both of them opinions will be interesting, because they will have their own spice in them something that makes them unique.

So, stop procrastinating and thinking of reasons why you shouldn’t be blogging, because there isn’t a good enough reason not to blog, unless you don’t want to earn money and you don’t want your voice to be heard. Log-in>Posts>Add new and start typing.

Also, I would like to hear your opinion about this, especially if you watched The King’s Speech.
