To better explain what is attraction marketing it’s best to explain the opposite marketing approach which would be direct marketing. In direct marketing you put up ads on other sites, buy banner ads, PPC ads, classified ads and all kinds of other places usually on websites owned by others. All those ads are aimed to finding the customer and offering him the solution to his problem – your product.
In attraction marketing the customer goes to you, instead of you looking for him. You create content whether it would be videos, blog posts, audios, presentations or whatever and that content attracts people and if they like the content they will want to hear more from you, follow up with you, learn from you and buy from you. When they join your list they are usually presold by your content and are more responsive so, it is easier to make sales.
Though attraction marketing has one minus – it takes a lot of time and effort to create that content and to start see the results and with direct marketing you can start making sales way faster, because you are going after the customer, but if you put the time in creating content and do the attraction marketing approach correctly once you have started generating traffic, leads and sales they wont stop coming, your content will pay dividends for a long long time.
Now, it’s up for you to choose your marketing approach whether you want to make sales faster, but harder or are you willing to invest the time into building content, building a long term business and making easier sales. If you don’t have time to invest then direct marketing would be better for you, but if you are willing to invest your time and energy then attraction marketing is for you.
Content marketing is actually pretty similar to attraction marketing, but in attraction marketing there’s a bigger emphasis on you and your personality, on the idea that people are more likely to buy from someone they know, like and trust.
